Algopay is a Techstars-backed Los Angeles fintech startup founded by Anna Merzi in 2017. Their mission is to bring online banking solutions to the 300 million currently unbanked in the Middle East, but here’s the twist — they’re doing it without traditional banks.
The company is taking a unique approach to solving this problem by creating an app-based bankless e-wallet where users can deposit and withdraw funds via Algopay approved vendors like store owners.
The engineering team at Algoway was busy focusing on securing funding and building out their MVP but they knew they needed a bold new website that could make their brand stand out with clear pointed messaging to help educate potential users.

Their current site was built in a hurry to get something on line and didn’t adequately reflect the serious image they deserved. Not to mention the mobile responsiveness was a real problem.
We met with Anna and learned about the unique value of Algopay, what would motivate the company’s target user persona, and what actions the website would need to drive.
We custom designed a new site from the ground up using bright colors and bold typography that focuses the messaging around the problem the company is solving and how their solution is unique.
Algopay, which serves users in the Middle East, needed an Arabic version of their entire site. This involved not only required updates to the website messaging but also a completely new right-to-left oriented design.
